My kids are both out for the summer. One of our traditions is that we go to the bookstore at the start of Summer for books to read. Whatever types of book they want to read. I want them to relax but continue reading.
We headed to Barnes and Nobles like we always do. Stopped in and picked up a few books.
After we were done shopping, the kids wanted to stop for a bite to eat. We stopped in at the French Quarter Restaurant right across the highway.
French Quarter Restaurant is a Cajun Seafood restaurant that specializes in Louisiana Cajun and Creole dishes. This restaurant felt like home. New Orleans style atmosphere and music.
We felt like we were whisk away back home for a visit. The hostess greeted us as we walked in and seated us in a booth as we requested.
Our waitress came quickly. She greeted us and took our drink orders.
When she returned with our drinks she asked us if we needed recommendations, but we didn’t the kids already knew what they wanted as appetizers.
We started with the Crab Fingers which is basically Fried crab claws. The Crab fingers were served with cocktail sauce.
The Crab Fingers were fried to perfection.
We also tried the Boudin Balls. The boudin balls were golden brown and served with the Gator Sauce as well. Superb.
The boudin balls were seasoned well. The Gator sauce was delicious. Another great appetizer.
Little man ordered the Kid’s Shrimp plate. This included Fried Shrimp, french fries that was served with ketchup and tartar sauce.
Baby girl ordered the Five Cheese Mac. This mac and cheese included shell shaped pasta with a five cheese blend.
The Mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy. She didn’t want any seafood or meat in her Mac, but you can add crawfish or chicken.
She loved this dish.
I ordered Fried Catfish Po-boy. Golden brown catfish on a soft poboy bread with thousand island, lettuce, tomatoes. Served with french fries or gumbo.
The Catfish was fried nicely. I added the Gator sauce to the poboy. I’m not sure why they chose Thousand Island for this po-boy but I didn’t like it. The Gator Sauce is superb. I recommend you add this for sure.

The food was served piping hot. We enjoyed the different dishes we tried.
Let me brag on the waitress for a minute. She was amazing. Such a sweet, kind, attentive waitress. I made sure to tell her this and thank her for the amazing service. Good waiters and waitress are hard to find.
