It’s crazy to believe how fast time is flying. Our teenager recently turned 15. OMG. I have alot of emotions that have been going through my mind. Excitement for her as she’s growing up. I feel sad because she is no longer my little girl, but becoming a beautiful young lady. It makes me feel a bit anxious, because I still have so much to teach her before she leaves for college.

Let me move on before I start crying. Last Friday, she had a few friends over for a super cool fun night (I will share more about this later). She wanted an easy dessert that her and her friends could enjoy.

I asked her, how about Cookies and Ice cream? But instead of cookies and ice cream what if we make Cookie sandwiches. She said sure that sounds yummy.

I stopped in last week at Half Baked Goodness to pick up a few goodies.
Here’s what we tried:

The best one was the crème brûlée. Omg delicious. The others were good as well. I love that Half Baked Goodness has keto options. The cookies were pretty good.

It’s spring break here in Texas. Looking for a spot to eat some delicious pizza with the family? Check out VIA 313. We stopped in to check their Memorial City Location.
Here’s what we tried:
* Meatballs with marinara with crostini - good appetizer
* Caesar salad with Parmesan crisp - fresh salad
* Bar style pizza (thin crust) The Temptations this pizza was superb
* Detroit style pizza half The Rocket/half The Carnivore - pizza was delicious
* Cinnamon sticks - superb some of the best we’ve ever had

Overall our experience at VIA 313 was amazing. From the service to the food. Our waiter was amazing. Very attentive. He was so kind. He bought some of the cinnamon sticks to the table on the house. So kind.
The pizza was some of the best pizza we’ve had in a long time in Texas. Everything was so fresh. Really nice spot.
I also love that they offer dairy free cheese and gluten free options.

Last weekend we traveled to Louisiana for a colleg

Last weekend we traveled to Louisiana for a college visit to LSU with our teenager. It was a great tour.
We couldn’t go back to Louisiana without getting a snowcone and some crawfish.
When we lived in Louisiana, Crawfish Boss was our favorite. We decided to stop in there. To our surprise Crawfish Boss was no longer there but was now Boozy Barn & Boiling Barn. Ok no worries. Let’s check it out.
We ordered our normal which was the loaded Strawberry cheesecake
snow-cone and 10lbs of crawfish spicy with the extras, (sausage, corn and potatoes).

So here’s our review of the new spot. It was very different. The snow cones ice was off. It wasn’t as good as we remembered.
The extras (sausage, corn, potatoes) were unseasoned which is very different from what it used to be. Not good at all.

Now for the most important part. The crawfish was boiled perfectly. We ordered spicy but it wasn’t spicy. Well seasoned yes, spicy no. The dipping sauce was on point.

The service was great! Lady taking our order was funny and very welcoming.

My Louisiana people send me the new spots to try next time I’m in Louisiana!

My mom is in town for a few days. I always love when she comes to visit. It’s been awhile since she’s been here.
We stopped in for a late lunch at The Cheesecake Factory after a day of shopping.
Here’s what we tried:
* Paradise Punch mocktail excellent
* Pineapple cherry limeade good idea but was a little too tart needed some simple syrup
* Passion mint Fizz mocktail best drink of the day
* Cheeseburger spring roll great idea love the dipping sauces
* Thai Chili Shrimp with spicy garlic aioli crispy shrimp with a delicious dipping sauce
* Street corn delicious
* Factory nachos a great appetizer. Loved the chips.
It has been years since I’ve dined at the Cheesecake Factory, but the food and service was excellent.
I regret that I didn’t get any cheesecake. But maybe next time.

Valentine’s Day was a few weeks ago. My husband and I have had a tradition every Valentine’s Day for the last 10 years or so that we go out to eat Crawfish instead of a fancy dinner on Valentine’s Day. It’s something that we’ve loved. This year we stopped in at
Seaholic Seafood and Bar in Katy.
Here’s what we tried:
* Oyster nachos - superb, a must try
* Turkey neck soup loved, we grew up eating turkey neck and never had it in a soup. So good.
* We tried Sack 5 with Garlic Butter Sauce, Spicy Superb flavor
* Sack 5 included 6lbs of Crawfish, 4 Snow Clusters, 3lbs of Shrimp, 4 potatoes, 4 ears of corn, 4 links of sausage.

The seafood was boiled perfectly! Well seasoned, easy to boil. The service was excellent!

We would definitely dine here again! Everything was top notch! @seaholicbar

I love a good Lamb Gyro 🥙. I was working on some edits one day and craving a gyro. No time to ride anywhere to go pick it up! I ran to the store quickly and made this meal in 15 minutes. It was so good!!
📸: Lamb Gyro, roasted pita bread, tzatziki, seasoned ground lamb with bell peppers and onions, topped with crumbled Mediterranean feta cheese. Finished with fresh mint. Delicious.

My Hubby recently had a birthday. One of his birthday celebrations was at Whiskey Cake in Katy. Whiskey Cake is one of his favorite places to dine. One of the things that he loves is that Whiskey cake changes their menu every so often.
Here what we tried:
- [ ] Fried green tomatoes with house made remoulade sauce. The sauce was delicious. The Fried green tomatoes needed seasoning.
- [ ] Crab fritters 🔥 OMG the best of the day! It was so good we wanted to order another one. Superb!
- [ ] My husband ordered the Brunch hash he said it was delicious.
- [ ] Our son ordered the kids cheeseburger. Love the presentation of this for the kids. Great thought went into it.
- [ ] Our daughter ordered the Chicken and Cheese melt. A delicious sandwich.
- [ ] I ordered the Fish and Chips. This is a new menu item. The fish was fried nicely. Loved the presentation and the portion size.
- [ ] We also tried two free spirited drinks, P.T.O and Ruby Slippers
- [ ] We finished the meal with the Whiskey Cake. A Must try. Omg. 😋😋
Our dining experience was great. Food and service was exceptional!

Weekends are for Brunch. If you are looking for a brunch spot in Cypress, be sure to check out the Flying Biscuit Cafe. A new breakfast/brunch spot that recently opened.
My friend and I stopped in this week to check it out. The Flying Biscuit Cafe has several locations across Texas.
Here’s what we tried:
* My friend tried the Piedmont Omelette and the Mocha latte
* I tried the Stuffed French toast breakfast, OMG the best French toast that I’ve ever had. Definitely the star of the day! The raspberry sauce and crème anglaise was incredible.
Overall the food was delicious. My only complaint was that the sage chicken sausage was hard and dry. But other than that. Everything else was a hit. The service was really good.
If you are looking for a spot to catch up with friends, I definitely recommend this spot. I had a blast kekeing and just catching up with my friend. Life can get busy sometimes but taking time to slow down and catching up with friends does something for your soul. Happy Saturday! Make today a good one!
